The musical partnership between Alasdair Fraser, long regarded as Scotland's premier fiddle ambassador, and the sizzlingly-talented Californian cellist Natalie Haas may not seem an obvious one, but the duo's dazzling teamwork, driving rhythms, and their shared passion for improvising on the melody and the groove of Scottish tunes has helped reconstruct and revive the Scottish tradition of playing dance music on violin and cello. They have toured internationally for over eighteen years, wowing audiences at festivals and concerts worldwide with their unique sound and have released five critically acclaimed and award winning albums along the way.

Hello from our first ever Folk Alliance in Kansas City, MO where it feels like summer in the middle of February :) Having a wonderful time here with a bunch of our peers and friends exploring the commonality in what we all do!

We are gearing up for our first run of shows next weekend with Jay Ungar & Molly Mason: A Fiddler's Feast in the Pacific Northwest. After that, we'll be hitting the east coast for some Fiddler's Feast and some duo touring...see schedule page for details! We are getting geared up for our third annual Ashokan Trad Strings workshop (hosted by Jay & Molly) in the end of April...register now! We will also be joining some wonderful Danish friends, Ditte Fromseier and Sigurd Hockings, for a double duo tour of Denmark in early June, followed by our first ever trip to Norway! Very exciting stuff :)

We are also very close to finishing the recording of our new album, which we hope will be out by summer! Keep your eyes and ears peeled, and in the meantime, stay warm!
